Percepciones y desarrollo: análisis de los parques urbanos de Manta (Ecuador).

Resumen

Los procesos de expansión y desarrollo que experimentan las grandes urbes latinoamericanas, frecuentemente se adelantan a los de planificación y ordenación territorial implicando rupturas o discontinuidades entre las necesidades de la población y los servicios públicos disponibles, creando nuevos contextos democrático-culturales donde el espacio público adquiere nuevos significados y expectativas para garantizar la calidad de vida de los ciudadanos a través de instalaciones urbanas como es el caso de los parques. En este contexto, el presente estudio analiza cinco parques urbanos del cantón Manta, aplicando un instrumento dirigido a conocer aspectos de “uso y preferencia” y “percepción de calidad”. Los resultados abordan el nivel de satisfacción de los usuarios en aspectos de calidad del parque.
