The Latin American intelligentsia present in the content song.

The present work studies some Latin American musical themes representative of the artistic and social movement known as new song. From there, the principle of intellectuality will be discussed and the way in which the singer-songwriters have made their contribution to a new thinking within the American continent. Thus, it could be said that the song with social content has been key in crucial moments of our historicity, significantly helping to forge an identity because the lack of it in Latin America has caused so much damage to the point of being considered a pandemic and even something already chronic. It is important to underline that most of the authors worked here had arduous struggles with the just and noble purpose of claiming to be Latin American. The intellectual singers have drawn new alternatives that shows in a passionate, ingenious and creative way in works like those that will be studied here.
