Life cartographies: social and artistic intervention with individuals with Alzheimer's and other dementias through drawing

"Life Cartographies" is a project that aims to remember who individuals with Alzheimer's and other dementias were, focusing on which memories are most significant throughout the different stages of their lives, specifically childhood, youth, and adulthood, in order to represent them through the use of dry techniques (charcoal, pencils, crayons, etc). The project, part of the Health and Art (ARS) project funded by the PIRTU grant from the Junta de Castilla y León and the European Social Fund (ORDEN EDU/1204/2010, August 26), was implemented at the Alzheimer's Center in Madrid, with the objective of generating spaces for health and well-being. In conclusion, and given the results, the project benefited not only dialogue and socialization among participants but also helped them to get to know each other better and find common ground.
