Fourth Industrial Revolution: between appearance and essence

Generally, international literature presents the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4RI) from its manifestations and leaves out of the analysis the interpretation of its essence. This work aims to contribute to understanding of dialectical relationships that are determinant in the behavior of the 4RI. From the method of dialectical materialism, the 4RI is analyzed within the framework of capitalist social relations of production, linked to the logic of capital accumulation process, and specifically, to development of productive forces. To understand the essence of this phenomenon, does not exempt societies from the relations of domination to which they are subjected, even if they are inserted in the 4RI. However, this understanding could contribute to design and implementation of national policies, in correspondence with socioeconomic realities of the countries, so that they minimize the harmful effects while preparing for their insertion in that process, consciously and deliberately.
