Venezuelan public policies in gender matter: Tradition vs social demands.

Abstract

The Public policies is a theme that has once again become the center of some research
today in view of the marked social inequalities existing in Latin America and the rest of
the world despite the attempt of some programs that promote through long-term objectives
to reduce this gap. That is why it has been proposed as a goal for this research to reflect on
Venezuelan public policies to address social inequalities, specifically in terms of gender;
based on the analysis of the definitions of public policies, public policies on gender (PPG)
and their scope, the PPG in Latin America and Venezuela, and last but not least the questioning
of the paternalistic tradition of the Venezuelan State against the social demands of
social movements made up of women.
